- Public has generously agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from all pink drinks sold to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Bob Homer Photography will be on hand shooting candid photos of the event, which they’ll make available for download on their website, with all proceeds going to the CBCF.
- We’ve got an army of little pink piggy banks waiting to accept donations of any size, and donation forms will be available for larger amounts.

Big days for bhp!
September – a return to school, an end to summer. Big days for everyone, generally.
Well, for those of us at bOB HOmer photography, they’re especially big days, for many reasons. Not the least of which is that our wee one is beginning Kindergarten today!! (which, admittedly, caused this mom to cry for a few nights with the acceptance that, yup, she’s a little-big-girl now)

Anyway, as some of you have already noticed on Twitter, I (Jen) am starting a teaching gig for BSN students at Langara College. I’m a nurse doing my PhD and have always wanted to teach. I’ve been a teaching assistant a number of times but this is my first course all to myself. Unlike before, I won’t have anyone to turn to when I don’t know the answer! It’s been causing me a little bit of anxiety but I did an *amazing* 3 day workshop that anyone who teaches really should consider and my confidence has risen greatly. It’s the ISW (or Instructional Skills Workshop) and most places of higher education offer it, as well as many private companies, and it’s always based on the same principles. Details aside, it rocked and I loved it and I feel more comfortable in my own skin now and that’s always a good thing no matter what we do.
I’ll have a fancy shmancy new place to grade my students’ papers now, too (and I don’t mean my office at Langara).
bOB HOmer photography has a new studio! YAY! All our own. It’s a big step but totally worth it. We just took possession and have already received clients there but we’re going to spend the next couple of weeks making it truly our own before we really open it up to the public. It’ll still be by appointment only but we’ll probably have some sort of open house for those of you who’d like to come meet us. We’re on the South Granville Rise and bOB and I are looking forward to having the extra space, being able to really spread out and organize, and smelling Memphis Blues at lunchtime. Pics and more details to come soon!
We have a couple more exciting announcements to make but we’re not quite yet at liberty to divulge so you’ll just have to wait!

Granville Island Wedding by bOB HOmer photography
Yesterday, August 14, 2010, we had the immense pleasure of capturing Jennifer and Scott’s wedding. They were cool customers in the blistering heat! Sense of adventure + sense of humour = awesome photo shoot with a couple that were an absolute delight! (Plus, they rocked our socks. We practically could have chosen the play list at the reception!) This is just a sneak peek – we couldn’t wait to share these with Jennifer and Scott! More to come!
